2020 has been a difficult year for many, and here at Frontline Construction we want to start your 2021 off on the right foot by providing stylish bathroom design ideas that will make you dream big with your space.

Whether your current bathroom is large or small, these ideas are designed to be adaptable to even the most challenging of spaces including wet rooms, en suites, walk in showers, and more. This blog post is the first in a series where we will be covering our favourite bathroom designs, starting with rustic, farmhouse, and Victorian style.

Rustic Bathroom

Rustic bathrooms are becoming increasingly popular as they evoke feelings of relaxation, comfort, and detachment from the outside world. Often utilising exposed natural materials such as wood and stone, these bathrooms create a tranquil and natural environment perfect for unwinding after a busy day.

Rustic designs make our list for new year new bathroom ideas not only because they are aesthetically pleasing, but also because of their high durability due to incorporating large amounts of natural materials. This makes them highly versatile for families of all ages, parents will love not having to worry about breakages with the sturdy rustic design.

Overall, the rustic design is an excellent way to bring a natural, peaceful atmosphere to your bathroom which is difficult to replicate, and therefore should be high up on the list for your potential bathroom inspiration.

Farmhouse Bathroom

Farmhouse bathrooms are highly effective in evoking feelings of comfort, relaxation, and simplicity. The use of neutral tones and materials give this design an elegant look while different furnishings can be used to give it a modern or industrial twist tailored to your taste.

The farmhouse design represents an excellent option for spaces benefiting from large amounts of natural light, as bright foliage can really help bring this design to life. Many rural homeowners are seeing the benefits of bringing elements from their picturesque surroundings into their bathrooms and with the farmhouse design the possibilities are endless.

The farmhouse design shares some similarities with the previously mentioned rustic bathroom, however it deserves its own place on our list of bathroom ideas for 2021 due to its excellent versatility to blend elements of modern, country, and rustic designs. This ultimately makes it a strong contender for a 2021-bathroom renovation for homeowners of all ages.

Victorian Bathroom

Victorian-style bathrooms are making a comeback due to their ability to evoke feelings of nostalgia and authenticity, perfect for a retreat away from the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life.

Common features of the Victorian design include free-standing baths, ornate-patterned tiles, and bold-coloured walls. The use of elaborate furnishings makes this design highly suitable for larger bathroom spaces, but can also be adapted for when space is limited. They incorporate traditional furniture such as vanity cabinets which makes them highly practical with plenty of storage space, perfect for growing families.

Victorian-style bathrooms have the ability to either retain the charm of traditional properties or add a timeless appeal to newbuilds which are often lacking the traditional cosy atmosphere.

We’ve added the Victorian style to our list for 2021 due to its ability to bring a timeless charm to a property which often goes amiss with newbuild designs, and we certainly don’t see this style going out of fashion anytime soon.
